Midland International’s improvements to the waiting area are complete. It was a $3M checkpoint project funded by grants. It should make waiting for your trip less of a drag. It’s expected to help with backups of passengers. See, sometimes it was so backed up that the security checkpoint lines were backed up all the way down the escalator!

Improvements that were also made included adding 33 percent to the waiting line on the second floor, adding an elevator and rehabilitating the escalator. So what’s next?

Well, they are planning on bringing in a coffee brand to the passengers so that they can have coffee while they wait. Reportedly, it’s not expected to be a Starbucks. Future facility improvements at Midland International also include roofing projects.

More Parking!?

Plus, we just found out that more parking spaces are planned! Director Justine Ruff said that they plan to add a whopping 800 parking spots! The extra spots are needed because at the moment, patrons are literally having to park in grass, dirt and other areas that are not actually meant for parking! The plan is for $11 million towards parking projects which will include a pair of lots.
